Hi, my name is Ismael but you can call me Ish.
My journey to finding a healthy lifestyle has allowed me to learn and experience the relationship between mind, body, and spirit. I was asthmatic since I was very little; I was allergic to food, dust, and other things that were always chasing me around.
I was skinny and small but I was determined to live the best life I could live regardless of my physical condition. I learned very early in my life to listen to my body, so I could identify any chance of me getting my asthma triggered. This helped me learn more about my skills and physical abilities like being fast and agile, for instance.
These abilities helped me excel at fast pace sports like soccer and basketball, but they triggered my asthma on a regular basis. After trying out different sports, it was Baseball the one I ended up choosing as it was relatively easy for me to manage my asthma while playing it.
Fast forward 20+ years now, I can say that these physical conditions sent me in the direction that I am today as a nutrition and fitness coach. I had to educate myself about nutrition to find out the type of food I needed to consume to gain strength and muscle mass; and while doing it, I discovered how much my new eating habits were contributing to significantly reducing my asthma to almost non-existent these days.
I also learned about physical training so I could support my eating plan with the proper exercise routines and physical conditioning.
After all these years I realized that what you eat, you become; and what you believe, you manifest. I believe living a healthy lifestyle begins with keeping the body nourished with proper nutrition, and healthy eating habits; maintaining a strong body through physical activity and exercise, and incorporating relaxing practices such as meditation, and breathing techniques.
I am a AFSA certified Health & Wellness coach, a certified Nutrition coach level 1 by Precision Nutrition, an AFPA certified Holistic Nutritionist, an NCSF certified personal trainer, an ISSA certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and a Group Fitness trainer. I am proud and grateful to be in a position to help others embrace health by guiding and supporting them throughout the process. It doesn't have to be perfect but it doesn't have to be hard either.
I aim to help you understand your journey, set your fitness and nutritional goals, identify your habits, and help you build daily tasks to change those habits for healthy ones. My integral health approach will have you feeling great and seeing amazing results in the right time.
